FRIDAY 21 NOVEMBER 2014
BÂTIMENT DES FORCES MOTRICES
The city of Geneva has an abundance of musicians of all kinds, a city where sometimes new varieties or unexpected species bloom, “un-heard” of for most of us. Cover, fusional duettists, is a perfect demonstration. It will do it utmost this Friday at the BFM to introduce you to this unique nectar and bring out its most beautiful sounds.
Cover is an electro-acoustic music duo composed of Vincent Devaud and Nicola Todeschini (ex-Shora). The band stems from a common desire for uninhibited and adventurous sound research and was formed in spring 2011 for a series of performances based on instantaneous composition. Motivated by the ideas thus generated, they decided to develop them further opting for a more constructed composition process, supported by recordings. Their modus operandi has since been refined using analogue and FM synthesis and diverted concrete sounds. The results are protean sound landscapes made of timbral layers, polyrhythms and kaleidoscopic flights.
